"I went to sleep with gum in my mouth and now there's gum in my hair and when I got out of bed this morning I tripped on the skateboard and by mistake I dropped my sweater in the sink while the water was running and I could tell it was going to be a terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day."

Sometimes you have a bad day.   Spicer has had quite a few of those latley.   Yesterday his teacher started him back on the ROAR program.   He had managed to avoid being on it all year until now.   I wish I could wave a magic wand and fix it but I can't.   Alll I can do is give him consequences for his negitive behaviors and praise him when he does well.  This too shalll pass,,,I hope.  I love you Spicer!

Spicer had a great day at school today.  This is a crazy week at school since its Dr. Seuss week and there are all kinds of opportunities for Spicer to get in trouble.  Monday was a rough day and I was fearful we would have a repeat of last year’s Dr. Seuss week.  So today I stressed the importance of having a good day.  I added a potential additional consequence of not attending Dr. Seuss' birthday party at our local book store.  I walked into Kidz Company and took a deep breath.  I made it to Spicer's backpack before he did.  I looked in his folder fearing the worst.  I was thrilled to see a good day!   Here are a few pictures of the celebration at BookNBean.  I am so proud of you Spicer!

Spicer helped me bake some cookies today.  We made dark choc oatmeal cookies, yummy!  Such a perfect little helper!  I love you Spicer Man!

Look What my sweet boy gave me!!!

I last wrote a blog about Spicer having a bit of a rough week last week.  Both Spicer's dad and I talked to him this weekend about the need to have a good week this week and that we knew he could do it.  Well did he ever!  Spicer has had a perfect week so far and was even on the Tiger news yesterday for being so polite.  What a turn around Spicer! I am so proud of you!

Spicer had a tough week this week.  He was out of control, he was phyical with his peers, and he couldn't keep his hand to himself.  It was a rough week.  Friday he did better and was even able to earn back going to his pep ralley.  I know this is just a little bump in the road.  I know he can get over this hump and have a great week next week!   I love you Spicer!  You can do it!

When you're so lonely lying in bed
Night's closed it's eyes but you can't rest your head
Everyone's sleeping all through the house
You wish you could dream but forgot to somehow
Sing this lullaby to yourself
Sing this lullaby to yourself
And if you are waiting, waiting for me
Know I'll be home soon darling I guarantee
I'll be home Sunday just in one week
Dry up your tears if you start to weep
And sing this lullaby to yourself
Sing this lullaby to yourself Lullaby,
I'm not nearby Sing this lullaby to yourself
Don't you cry, no don't you cry
Sing this lullaby to yourself
Cause when I arrive dear it won't be that long
No it won't seem like anytime that I've been gone
It ain't the first time it won't be the last
Won't you remember these words to help the time pass?
So when you're so lonely lying in bed
Night's closed it's eyes but you can't rest your head
Everyone's sleeping all through the house
You wish you could dream but forgot to somehow
Sing this lullaby to yourself
Sing this lullaby to yourself
Sing this lullaby, sing this lullaby
Sing this lullaby to yourself

Spicer and I enjoyed a wonderful Snow Day today.   We started off the day with some treats and visit with my friend Becca and her son.  Spicer had a blast playing.  Spicer helped me run some errands, played with his toys, and watched his new tv in his room.  He has a nice four day weekend.  We may go to the movies on Monday.   I love you Spicer Man!

Spicer had a very hard time last year in school.  This year he has improved leaps and bounds.  Now that we have many of his behaviors under control we have spent more time this year working on academics.   Spicer is slightly behind in school.  We were hoping he could catch up with a few interventions but that has not been the case.   Spicer will be attending tutoring with the school two days a week and one day a week with Silvan Learning Center.  I am very excited that this will help improve his school performance and enhance his learning.  I think these dillignet efforts wiill help get Spicer on grde level by next fall.   Spicer seems reseptive and excited about tutoring.   He told me yesterday, Mommy the work is getting harder and harder to understand.   He knows he is behind and wants to do well.  I am so proud of you Spicer!  You have come so far!
