I guess it really doesn't surprise me that Spicer loves the theater. With his dad working at a theater and I was in choir and drama in school, Spicer is quite the little budding actor. Last year was Spicer's first year to attend Summer Arts Academy at the Gleama Center. He had a great time last year and he really enjoyed himself this year too. Spicer and his group did the Tortoise and the Hare. Spicer was the Hare. There was never a cuter Hare. I love you Spicer!

Spicer and I have been walking to store, bank, and other errands near our house.  Last night we walked to the store to get a few needed items.  I love our walks.  I love how much Spicer talks durring our time together.  It feels so much better than being just glued to the tv.  Speaking of tv...our tv watching last night was quite educational.  Spicer and I watched the Venus Transit on NASA.  Spicer was amazed when I told him that this is the only time we will see this in our lifetimes and that the next Venus Transit isn't going to happen for over 100 years.

I love you Spicer!

Robert Blumrick Cell:  Spicer said this is how you taught him to make his bed :)

School's out with fever
School's out completely

Enjoy your Summer my sweet boy !!!

Spicer had a little bit of a struggle this year to find footing with his behaviors and his reading.  He has really worked hard.  He took his Aims Web test last week and was just 2 points away from his Benchmark Goal.  That is compared to just a few months ago when he was only half his benchmark.   He has been in tutoring since January.  He attended tutoring at school two days a week and priviate tutoring one day a week and he never complained once.  He work so hard!   His behaviors have also improved.  He had a little bump in the road but seems to have turned a corner.  I am so proud of you Spicer.  Spicer Rocks!!!

As I have blogged before, Spicer has been having a hard time with his reading.  In effort to improve this he had a semester of Sylvan and has been in tutoring after school two days a week.  Last week his teacher sent me his most recent timed reading test.  He had been reading 15-20 out of almost 50 words.   This test Spicer made 43/48!   I am so proud of you sweet boy.  Thank you for being such a hardworker!!!   I am so proud of you Spicer!  This past week Spicer had a good week so he picked buying some new books as a reward.   I am so glad he loves to read.  I love you Spicer!

Spicer will be headed on a road trip for Spring Break.  I will miss him so much.  I know he will have a great time with his daddy and all his Texas family.   I love you Spicer!  Here is a little travel music for you.  Safe travels this Friday my sweet!

Spicer and I have really been enjoying the weather!  We have had temps in the 70's and 80's.  Here are a few pictures of our hike and park fun.  We are loving the Spring!   I hope these temps stay mild for the rest of March and April.

Spicer: Mommy the First Lady will be here tomarrow
Me: Neat Spicer!
Spicer: She is the President's wife.
Me: No she is the First Lady of Kentucky
Spicer: Oh! ... Mommy who is the First Lady of Texas?
Me: Rick Perry's wife.
Spicer: I like Rick Perry!
Me: Oh, I didn't know you knew him?
Spicer: Well he makes all the TOYSRUS in Texas sell cool toys.
Me: Well that's not Rick Perry Spicer, that's TOYSRUS' marketing department.
Spicer: Oh, well I like them then.

Spicer had some struggles this week but he pulled it together Friday and had a great day.  He didn't  just have a good day, his teacher used the words "super wow!" to describe his day.  Hang in there Spicer, you will get there.  I know you can do it!  I love you!
