I have talked about my fears of gaining and my fears of just staying the same weight.  My one pound loss this week scares me.  I know as I get closer and closer to my goal weight I will have more and more one pound losses, no losses, or I might even have gains.  I fear the day I have to report a gain.   So far I have not had to do so but I have certainly had some close calls.   This coming week I plan to take things up a notch and really amp up my exercise.   I hope that will help me to meet my goal this coming weigh in of -2lbs to reach -50lbs.

I was thinking today about what it will be like to be -80lbs.  Will that be enough?  Will I want to go to 90? to 100?  I keep wondering if 80 was too modest.  I have been dicussing that with Tommy a lot this week.  I think it all boils down to comfort.  If I am comfortable at -80lbs then so be it.  If I feel like I need to loose another 10-20lbs then I will cross that bridge when I come to it.  But another fear I have is never being happy with my weight.  I don't want to be one of these people who keep loosing and loosing until they are just skin and bones.  As I near 50lbs I wonder what I will look like at -80lbs.  It is very exciting and scary but in a good way.

In the next few weeks I will at -50lbs.  That is a very exciting number for me.   I feel closer and closer to my goal.   I have been in Nashville but have continued to exercise by swimming and walking.   It would be so easy to just do nothing.  I am proud of Tommy and I for sticking to counting our calories and working out.

Adult obesity rates rose in sixteen states this past year and didn't decline in a single one.  More than 31 percent of adults in Kentucky alone are obese, putting the bluegrass at the sixth most obese state.  One Kentuckian fought obesity when he started noticing serious health problems. It wasn't till Robert Buehl made an unexpected trip to the hospital when he decided it was time to make a change.
He said it was only a panic attack but he was having a hard time breathing and doing everyday exercises. Buehl wasn't alone, a recent study shows obesity rates have risen in 16 states including Kentucky.  Dr. Brian Macy said, "I think right now most providers, we aren't surprised by that because we see that everyday.  I think people in general can be very surprised by that because they might not know they're obese or they might not know what that really means."  Weighing close to 300 pounds, Buehl decided to enter the "Train to Lose" competition at Total Fitness Connection in Bowling Green.  75 pounds later he ended up winning the whole thing.  "I'm down to a size 36 pant, that are loose and I have a pair of 34's waiting for me," says Buehl,"It was a blessing that fell into my lap and I'm really glad to have it happen."  Melissa Budd, trainer at the Total Fitness Connection say the most important part to maintaining a healthy weight is by simply moving.  "I don't think people understand how much they really have to move and it's moving most or all days of the week. Some of them want that quick fix and they think, well I'll work out two days a week, stuff like that. It's really looking at your priorities," says Budd.  Although the statistics still stand, Buehl says you have to break the habit to change.  "We are a blessed country but it just comes down to people's eating habits," says Buehl.  Dr. Macy says obesity is often associated with other health problems such as diabetes and high blood pressure.  He says, little things like taking the stairs instead of the elevator can make a big difference.

It gets hard to do much more than about 40 mins durring the week. Yesterday I had an idea.  I realized I could just do 30mins in the morning and then 30mins after work.   What am I doing, you ask.?  I am doing Zumba in the mornings and walking at night.  I do Zumba before I wake up Spicer.   I walk in the evening while Spicer rides his bike.  Spicer really seems to be enjoying riding his bike and since he is on his bike he doesn't get tired.   Tommy and I drove my route this morning and it's 2 miles.  I do the walk in 30mins which is pretty good for walking with a kid :)

As of late a few people keep saying how "amazing" I am.  I am not really that amazing.  Anyone can do this.  If your kids are younger...put them in the stroller or a wagon and pull it.   Workout in the morning before the kids wake up.  Workout at lunch.  Workout after work maybe if you want it to cool down a bit.  Walk in doors if it's too hot or raining.  YOU CAN DO THIS TOO!!!!!

 Today's daily word: Forgiveness

I forgive from my heart and enrich all my relationships.

I would not consider carrying a heavy backpack filled with things I don't need and can't use. Neither do I choose to carry the heavy load of anger or resentment about something I or someone else has said or done.
"Forgive yourself.."
