Summers are hard for me.  I only have Spicer every other week.  I know that it is good for him to see his dad more but I still miss him.  It felt odd not to pick him up Sunday.   I can't wait till this Saturday when I can pick him up!!! I miss you Spicer!!!! I LOVE YOU!!!

How God Made Little Boys

He took some jam,
and some apple pies,
He mixed in freckles,

My sweet boy graduated from Kindergarten.   I went to his graduation and awards day.   I can't imainge how I will feel when he graduates high school or college!!  Here are some words of wisdom for my little graduate.

Wear sunscreen. If I could offer you only one tip for the future, sunscreen would be it. The long term
benefits of sunscreen have been proved by scientists, whereas the rest of my advice has no basis or

The real troubles in your life are apt to be things that never crossed your worried mind: the kind that blindsides you at 4pm on some idle Tuesday. Do one thing every day that scares you. Sing. Don't be reckless with other people's hearts; don't put up with people who are reckless with yours. Floss. Don't waste your time on jealousy.  Sometimes you're ahead, sometimes you're behind.  The race is long, and in the end, it's only with yourself. Remember compliments you receive; forget the insults. (if you succeed in doing this, tell me how). Keep your old love letters; throw away your old bank statements. Stretch. Don't feel guilty if you don't know what you want to do with your life.  The most interesting people I know didn't know at 22 what they wanted to do with their lives; some of the most interesting 40 year olds I know still don't. Get plenty of Calcium.  Be kind to your knees -- you'll miss them when they're gone. Maybe you'll marry, maybe you won't.  Maybe you'll have children, maybe you won't.  Maybe you'll divorce at 40; maybe you'll dance the funky chicken on your 75th wedding anniversary. Whatever you do, don't congratulate yourself too much or berate yourself, either.  Your choices are half
chance, so are everybody else's. Enjoy your body: use it every way you can.  Don't be afraid of it or what other people think of it; it's the greatest instrument you'll ever own. Dance...even if you have no where to do it but in your own living room. Read the directions (even if you don't follow them). Do not read beauty magazines; they will only make you feel ugly. Get to know your parents; you never know when they'll be gone for good. Be nice to your siblings: they're your best link to your past and the people most likely to stick with you in the future. Understand that friends come and go, but what a precious few should hold on.  Work hard to bridge the gaps and geography and lifestyle, because the older you get, the more you need the people you knew when you were young. Live in New York City once, but leave before it makes you hard. Live in Northern California once, but leave before it makes you soft. Travel. Accept certain inalienable truths: prices will rise, politicians will philander, you too will get old; and when you do, you'll fantasize that when you were young, prices were reasonable, politicians were noble, and children respected their elders. Respect your elders. Don't expect anyone else to support you.  Maybe you have a trust fund, maybe you'll have a wealthy spouse, but you never know when either one might run out. Don't mess too much with your hair or by the time you are 40, it will look 85. Be careful whoseadvice you buy, but be patient with those who supply it.  Advice is a form of nostalgia; dispensing it is a way of wishing the past from the disposal--wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts, and recycling it for more than it's worth. But trust me, I'm the sunscreen.

MY SWEET BOY MADE 100% Today!

My sweet boy is under the weather today.   Spicer has been sick these last few days and yesterday when I picked him up from Kidz Company he had been asleep for 2.5 hours and had a temp.   So for the first time since his check-up in July I took him to the doctor.   They did a swob to make sure it wasn't Strep but he was neg.  Thank Goodness.  They said it is just a bad cold so he is home today and resting after I loaded him up on meds.  Poor Thing!!!  I love you Spicer!!! Get Well Soon!!!!

Spicer fell asleep at 7PM tonight.   He was worn out from his School Block Party.

I picked up Spicer today and we ran some errands.   When we got home and Spicer helped make his pizza.  We used pre-made crust, bruschetta sauce, and parmesan cheese.  YUMMY!!!  Spicer cleaned his room and I kept hearing him in the bathroom.  I wasn't sure what he was doing.  When I went to go check I had a nice surprise.  Spicer had cleaned the sink.  He smiled and said, "I cleaned the sink Mommy."  Thank you for being such a good little helped Spicer!!!

Spicer has had some rough days last week and the first of this week but not today!!!!  Today was a great day!!! Spicer made 90%!!!  I was so happy for him.  I could do a cartwheel!!!  I am so proud of you Spicer!!!  Now it's off to see Rio!!!

Today was a wonderful and tough day all rolled into one.   Spicer had his first tee ball game!!! I was so excited and so was he.  I picked him up from Kidz Company and I was greeted with a no so very good surprise.  Spicer made 50% yesterday :(   This is one of his lowest percentages since we started tracking his goals early in the school year.  I struggled with what to do about this.  Do I make him miss his first game?  Do I make him go and just cheer his team?  I was not sure what to do.  I decided he needed to go to his first game.  I explained to him the only reason he was playing was because not playing would be letting his time down and that would not be fair to him.  He played well for the most part until the last time out in the field.   But for a first game he did great!!  Spicer knows that if he has another rough day not only will he loose his TV and game system for the day but he will lose his Legos too.  These are tough lessons but important lessons.  I love you Spicer!  I know you can have a good day today.  I know you can do it!!!  I love you no matter what!
