I began my latest weight loss journey 1/7/11.  Maybe because I started on the 7th this will be my lucky number.  But luck really has nothing to do with it.  I know this has to be a lifestyle change.  I feel very good about this.  I am pumped.  I want to be realistic.  I want to lose 80 pounds this year.  I don’t think that is impossible.  I know I can do it!!  A few years ago I lost 100 pounds so 80lbs is going to happen,   I am recording my weight loss on my Blackberry and in the blog.  I plan to weigh in every Friday.  My first weigh in was last Friday and I lost 4 pounds!!!!   I am very excited about my first weigh in and even more excited about this week’s weigh in.   I know there will be weigh ins I am less excited about than others but I feel like if I blog them and record them I can keep myself on track.   My coworker has done something similar and has made a lot of progress.   I hope this will also help me.   But this just isn’t about me and my diet.  These blogs will also be about the rest of my life.  This will be about Spicer, Tommy, my family, my friends, my work, and even my cat Spike from time to time.   I plan to update this blog as much as I can.  Since my blog today is about my weight loss.  I thought I would put in some fun quotes about weight loss.

When we lose twenty pounds... we may be losing the twenty best pounds we have!  We may be losing the pounds that contain our genius, our humanity, our love and honesty.  ~Woody Allen

A diet is the penalty we pay for exceeding the feed limit.  ~Author Unknown

Inside some of us is a thin person struggling to get out, but they can usually be sedated with a few pieces of chocolate cake.  ~Author Unknown

I've decided that perhaps I'm bulimic and just keep forgetting to purge.  ~Paula Poundstone

Albert Einstein, who discovered that a tiny amount of mass is equal to a huge amount of energy, which explains why, as Einstein himself so eloquently put it in a famous 1939 speech to the Physics Department at Princeton, "You have to exercise for a week to work off the thigh fat from a single Snickers."  ~Dave Barry, Dave Barry Turns 50
